I just purchased a small book entitled Raymer's Dictionary of Spokane, Copyrighted 1906 and Signed by Chas D. Raymer 1910. The book is 160 pages and is a directory of businesses in Spokane and includes Advertising, and photos of the local area. I'm sure it's the same company you refer to in your blog. My assumption is this was a nice source of income for the Raymers and wonder if they published these for other cities they ran their stores in. I have some photos I'm willing to share if your interested.res03hrkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15552185880464178231noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8796221668764867227.post-65983228395474910732012-10-15T22:13:29.518-05:002012-10-15T22:13:29.518-05:00Totally by chance I ran across this a few minutes ...Totally by chance I ran across this a few minutes ago. Raymer's in SpokaneSteve Norquisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10683456770908239853noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8796221668764867227.post-16384209955323666002012-10-15T22:12:07.182-05:002012-10-15T22:12:07.182-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Steve Norquisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10683456770908239853noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8796221668764867227.post-84463958019006818032012-10-13T06:35:11.194-05:002012-10-13T06:35:11.194-05:00Interesting finds! I live in Minneapolis, collect Mpls ephemera, and work at used bookstore just across the river in St. Paul, so this touches on many of my interests. I have been unable to find other images of Raymer's bookstore in my own collection, or in the online images from the Hennepin County Public Library or the Minnesota Historical Society. I will do some research the next time I can get to the library. I wish, however, to offer one correction. Close examination of the advertisement shown above shows that the date is a slightly imperfectly printed 1885 not 1835. The earlier date does not fit into the history of Minneapolis. I will share anything else I can come up with as soon as I've found it.Steve Norquisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10683456770908239853noreply@blogger.com
